Job Title: Broker Consultant

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers (South-South Region)
Job type: Contract – Permanent

  • This role assists the regional manager in ensuring that the broker market is serviced at all times. The recipient is independently responsible for achieving results via own efforts. The role is based in the Regional Office (Port Harcourt).

Job Specification
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Develops and implements a sales, marketing and support plan for all brokers
  • Analyses the sales product mix in order to react to trends, and ensure the profitable growth of the portfolio.
  • Manages the relationship between Old Mutual and brokers, and ensures maximum growth of the portfolio.
  • Researches competitor offerings and makes recommendations.
  • Reacts to market trends and competitor initiatives to ensure sustainable growth.
  • Ensures that Old Mutual and product providers understand the Broker’s product and marketing needs.
  • Meets all new business targets as set out at the beginning of each year.

  • Markets Old Mutual services and products to brokers face to face
  • Develops and try to find new business

Sales Support:

  • Assists the regional manager in ensuring that the broker market is serviced at all times
  • Receives requests for quotations from brokers and makes alterations to existing business
  • Supports and advises on all product-related aspects of  products to Brokers

Relationship Building:

  • Builds and maintains sustainable relationships with all contracted brokers in designated portfolio
  • Persuades brokers to sell Old Mutual products and services


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Completed tertiary education, Business or Sales Marketing Qualifications. Good Analytical skills, technical/insurance product knowledge and relevant sales experience would be an added advantage.
