Cooperazione Internazionale (COOPI) is an Italian humanitarian NGO established in Milan in 1965. COOPI targets to assist the world’s poorest to enhance their access to healthcare, food, and financial security, and to get over their special vulnerability to wars, civil unrests, and natural disasters. For 50 years of long-term backing and regular presence in the field, COOPI has been involved in breaking the cycle of poverty and replying to specific emergencies in a lot of sectors, like Food Security, Health, Humanitarian Aid, Water and Sanitation, Socio-Economical Services, Education and Training, Human Rights, Migrations and Sustainable Energy.

Job Title: Coordination Assistant

Location: Maiduguri, Borno
Duration: 6 months renewable
Starting Date: ASAP


  • Meeting attendance: participate in internal coordination meetings and prepare the minutes to be shared with the coordination team.
  • Bureaucratic aspect: follow up on INGO registration in-country and make sure that the organization is in line with all governmental rules; archive project documents (contract, report, amendment, etc.) to be shared with the HQ.
  • Project proposal: support the Head of Mission and Program Manager on project proposal development, operational plan updates, and internal program planning tools revisions and update.
  • Reporting: prepare and revise project narrative reports to be shared with the HQ and Donors.
  • M&E: liaise directly with the different project managers on the revision and follow up of the internal M&E tool.
  • Others: perform other additional duties requested by the Head of Mission provide solutions and define work processes for various interventions.



Related Articles
  • Advanced degree in International Development or related fields;
  • Excellent knowledge of project cycle management;
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English;
  • Excellent interpersonal and writing communication skills;
  • Strong commitment to follow the rules and procedures of the organization.

Soft skills:

  • Strong analytical and practical problem-solving skills;
  • Strong supervisory abilities and demonstrated the capacity of teamwork;
  • Adequate resilience to stress;


  • Previous experience in writing project proposals;
  • Previous experience in a Western African country;
  • Previous experience with an international humanitarian INGO.

Requested Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year.
