Job Position: Firemen and Fire Engine Driver

Location: Nigeria – Lagos

Description

Conduct routine fire patrol in the Refinery site.
Make sure that all emergency and firefighting equipment are in a ready and fit-to-use state aways.
Turn out to every fire scene within the terminal and outside the terminal as shall be directed.
Initiate the firefighting through the deployment of equipment not limited to the fire engine alone.
Carryout daily routine maintenance checks on the fire appliance, water tanker and other ancillary equipment.
Candidate will be responsible for replenishing water and foam compound in the fire appliance after every turn out.
Will be responsible for driving the fire engine/water tanker, to and fro every fire scene and for any other operations as shall be directed.
Engage in salvage and rescue operations to reduce loss and damage to equipment and personal injury during any incident.
Discharge standby duties to oversee discharge/loading operations of flammables and volatile chemicals.
Conduct fire evacuation drills twice yearly and ensure good awareness of the terminal’s emergency procedures.
Carryout other duties as assigned.
Maintain firefighting equipment and installations to its best performance as designed.
Actively prevent fire during all identified critical hot jobs.

Requirements

Applicant must have a Nigerian Certificate of Education / HND.
6 month Fire Training certificate from recognized Fire Training Institute of Nigeria.
Candidate must have a valid Driver’s License for Fire Engine category.
Credible demonstration use of firefighting skills with Firefighting Appliances / Fire Tenders.
Not less than 5 yearsexperience in a large manufacturing industry which has fire protection system as well as external firehydrant system, sprinkler system, foam spray system and firefighting trucks.
