The ANU Fenner School of Environment and Society (FSES), in the ANU College of Science at the Australian National University (ANU), is offering 2 Fenner School of Environment & Society PhD Scholarships to students, both domestic and international, to pursue postgraduate research for the Ph.D. degree. The award aims to attract the highest caliber international and domestic students to pursue postgraduate research for a Ph.D. degree within the Fenner School.

Scholarship value/inclusions:

The scholarship award is a stipend of AUD 28,092 per annum, for 3 years. The scholarship also provides dependent child allowance (international students only), relocation allowance, and thesis reimbursement.

Eligibility for FSES PhD Scholarships at Australian National University

Eligible applicants are both domestic and international students, who are enrolling full-time in a program of study for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy, in the Fenner School of Environment & Society, at the Australian National University. Applicants will be assessed on the student’s research potential. This will take into account a measure of the applicant’s overall performance in undergraduate, and (if any) Master’s coursework, as well as an assessment of their most recent graded research writing (thesis) and achievements (awards, research publications, referee assessment).

Application Deadline

Applications for the Ph.D. program can be submitted at any time during the year, but if you want to be considered for a scholarship for studies commencing no later than 31 March 2021, then you have to apply by:

  • 31 August 2020for international students
  • 31 October 2020for domestic students
