Benefits of Meridian Scholarship at Southern Illinois University
All Meridian Scholarship award beneficiaries will be held to the terms and conditions of the scholarship award detailed herein. The Meridian Scholarship award is valid for fall and spring semesters and will be continued if renewal conditions are met, for eight semesters across four academic years. This award provides full tuition at the undergraduate rate, compulsory and course fees, SIUE housing expenses to live in University Housing equal to the rate of a shared room in Bluff, Prairie or Woodland Hall, and meals at the rate of Meal Plan A.
The Meridian Scholarship may be applied at the undergraduate rate to tuition charges in the SIUE School of Dental Medicine, School of Pharmacy or Graduate School. One of the allotted 8 semesters may be applied toward costs associated with an SIUE approved study abroad program up to $5,000. Students residing in University Housing apart from a shared room in Bluff, Prairie, or Woodland Hall will be responsible to provide any difference in housing expenses. The Meridian Scholarship award does not pay for off-campus accommodation, for meals for students electing to live off campus, or for additional charges related to selecting a meal plan other than Meal Plan A.

Admissible Criteria: To be qualified, the candidates have to meet all the following criteria:
- Admitted freshmen will be given consideration with an aggregate cumulative 3.5 high school GPA (4.0 scale).
- The average profile of selected scholars: 3.92 GPA
- U.S. and international students are eligible. The Meridian Scholarship award is not obtainable for transfer students.
