All candidates applying to Trent are given consideration automatically for Trent University Entrance Scholarship awards, granted for academic excellence. These vary in value from $1,000 to $3,000 and are non-renewable.
On January 8, 2020, a Ukrainian aircraft crashed close to Tehran in Iran. Canada and the world were traumatized by the incident which took the lives of 57 Canadians, with 34 of them employed at or schooling in universities and colleges in Ontario. The Ministry of Colleges and Universities proclaimed the Remembrance Scholarship awards initiative to remember the victims of the catastrophic plane crash. The Remembrance Scholarship award is obtainable to candidates attending a publicly-assisted college or university in Ontario in the 2020-21 academic session. Trent University got a one-time $10,000 Remembrance Scholarship grant from the Ministry of Colleges and Universities.
The Remembrance Scholarship at Trent University is on the basis of financial need and merit. Both local and foreign candidates are qualified for this award and have to be pursuing an undergraduate-level program of study. Beneficiaries have to be enrolled and remain enrolled as a full-time or part-time candidate in a qualified program during the 2021-22 academic session.
Undergraduate candidates may apply with the use of the Remembrance Scholarship award Application form on the MyTrent portal. The application will become available on December 7, 2020 and will end on February 12, 2021. The beneficiary of the scholarship award will be informed in March 2021.

- Candidates are required to have a high school diploma for admission to a bachelor’s degree program.
- Candidates are required to satisfy Trent University’s academic and English proficiency criteria at the application time.
