Applications are invited for the University of Southern Indiana International Scholarships in USA for incoming freshmen for the 2022/2023 academic year.

The USI was established in 1965, the University of Southern Indiana enrolls more than 11,000 dual credit, undergraduate and graduate candidates in more than 130 areas of study. A state-owned higher education institution, situated on a 1,400-acre campus in Evansville, Indiana, University of Southern Indiana provides programs through the College of Liberal Arts, College of Nursing and Health Professions, Romain College of Business, and the Pott College of Science, Engineering, and Education.

It is a Carnegie Foundation Community Involved University and provides continuing education and special programs to over 20,000 partakers yearly through Outreach and Engagement. The University provides study-abroad chances in over 60 nations, and is host to international candidates from all over the globe.

Eligibility for University of Southern Indiana International Scholarships

  • Before filling out the University of Southern Indiana International Scholarships Application, candidates have to first apply for admission and be admitted to USI.
  • Fill out the University of Southern Indiana International Scholarships application by the closing date.
  • Have a proven record of accomplishment with a minimum cumulative high school GPA of 3.25 or more on a 4 point scale.
  • Have or intend to have a non-immigrant visa (i.e. a F-1 or J-1 student visa).
  • Preference afforded to freshmen (first time candidate who has not attended any colleges or universities following high school with the exemption of ESL study). Can commence in the Intensive English Program first, but have to fill out the International Student Scholarship application with original application/acceptance to USI.

How to Apply for University of Southern Indiana International Scholarships

The international student scholarship award application comprises four constituents: the application, two recommendation forms with letters of recommendation or comments, and two concise essays. The international scholarship award review committee will grant available scholarship awards to appropriate candidates on the basis of varying factors.

Essays: Complete the following essays.

  • You may compose the essays in your native language and make a translation into English. If you are translating your essay to English, you have to submit both the original language version and the English translations. If you compose your essays in English, you do not have to submit another version.
  • What are your academic, professional, and personal aspirations? How will a degree program from the University of Southern Indiana help your aspirations? (300-500 words typed).
  • How will you function as a cultural ambassador at USI and in the community/area? What traits and abilities make you qualified for this program? What types of undertakings or programs do you envisage in this role (e.g., presenting details about your culture to school kids, etc.) (Maximum 1,000 words typed)
